Arriving in Shenzhen and attending a birthday party for my supplier Alex. We did shots of red wine for over an hour.
Two happy fools.
My dormitory room at my supplier's factory. Clean and sterile, but not quite home.
A rock-hard mattress and super soft pillows - quite the combination.
The personal water heater in the shower stall. It took me a few days to realize that you had to set the temperature extra-high (50 C) to make the hot water last through the whole shower.
I feel so official wearing my special License badge around the factory.
Living across the garden from the girl's dormitory.
A view of the garden.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work (in the electronics factory) we go...
Just another Friday night in Shenzhen.

Production is now in process. I'm timing my process in the 'furnace'. (photo by wesste)
Factory grounds
Susan Guo, our 'concierge' at the factory.
This guard was a real cutie. She wouldn't let me take the steps instead of the elevator but she always smiled big when I said hello in Chinese.
The surrounding neighborhood. This industrial zone is still relatively new.
Ground cover for mosquito breeding.
The Bates Motel. Opening soon.
I have no idea of which direction this is but there are mountains in the background.
Susan asked if we could pose for a picture. How could I say no?
Joshua, a co-worker from our Chinese operation that will be working with me for the next two weeks.
My home for Week 2: The Chang Feng Hotel
Not too shabby for the fourth floor lobby.
Settled in at the Chang Feng Hotel in Bao An. At the desk, they told me that everything in the minibar was included in the room rate. There were three sodas and two bottles of water. No beer... :-(
A rock-hard bed and plenty of it.
The double shower heads. The upper one is like standing under a waterfall.
Classy sink.
Too bad there's nothing good on the TV.

The blur of Moe, Larry & Curley on another 125cc motorcycle.
I sent this picture to my boss right before a teleconference and told him to open it while we were talking. Kind of like still-life video conferencing.
